We crafted these mixed-media posters by skillfully blending historical images of women fighting for their right to vote, scanned and transformed into collages, with hand-printed text using traditional letterpress techniques. These meticulously composed collages were then scanned once more, seamlessly integrating digital elements. Our concept was to bridge the gap between past and present by fusing traditional and contemporary methods, creating a meaningful connection between these vintage visuals and a modern audience.
This campaign’s case study unfolded in the pivotal year of 2020, a momentous time not only because of the crucial election but also as it commemorated the historic 100th anniversary of American women securing their right to vote, marking the triumphant conclusion of the arduous suffrage movement.
